Well, even if it’s just for the moment, this viral social media sensation transforms you into a cover star, complete with the iconic Vogue logo. Our timelines have suddenly switched from several ongoing issues into mood boards celebrating the creativity and beauty of people from across the world. The #VogueChallenge started on TikTok but has also now spread to Twitter and Instagram.
Young Africans from across the continent and beyond have not been left out, in fact their eclectic showcase of talent in photography, modelling, styling and generic slay has once again sparked a conversation on why one of the world’s most prestigious fashion magazines doesn’t have an African bureau yet. But that’s story for another day.
This challenge is another attestation to the truth that black people are beautiful, and they are also incredibly talented. Amid all that’s happening, its an inserting trend to indulge in and bury your worries for a minute.
