In a move to expand its content offerings and cater to African audiences, South African digital satellite television provider MultiChoice has signed a licensing agreement with Paramount Global Content Distribution.
This agreement brings the Paramount+ brand to Africa for the first time. MultiChoice subscribers will gain access to a dedicated Paramount+ destination featuring a library of content, including new and returning television series and feature films from CBS, Paramount+ Originals, Showtime, and Paramount Pictures.
“This agreement demonstrates our commitment to providing viewers with more entertainment options and expanding our services with new content,” said Nomsa Philiso, CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice South Africa.
This development also means the distribution company will compete with streaming services, including Netflix and Amazon Video.
