Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has been apprehended for questioning and further investigation in connection with the passing of his former protege, Mohbad.
This information was verified by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, through his official communication platform.
He stated via his X account on Tuesday evening, “Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been taken into custody for questioning and other investigative procedures… #justice4Mohbad #justiceforMohbad.”
Previously, the head of Marlian Music had revealed via his authenticated social media account on Tuesday evening that he had returned to Nigeria.
In his statement, he said, “I would like to inform you that I have recently returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to collaborate with the authorities in the ongoing inquiry. It is essential for me to contribute to the truth-seeking process for Imole. I will be meeting with the police, hoping that the facts will emerge and justice will be served.”
It is noteworthy that Naira Marley has rejected allegations of any involvement in Mohbad’s demise, emphasizing that despite their dispute in 2022, he had not harbored any ill intentions towards him.
