Nigerian Presidency orders release of Omoyele Sowore & Colonel Dasuki

If you’re reading this, it’s few hours to Christmas and President Buhari may have found a subtle way to say Merry Xmas! The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Federation said in a statement released in Tuesday that it was in compliance with the court order to grant both the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and the convener of the #RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore bail.

The two defendants are enjoined to observe the terms of their bail and refrain from engaging in any act that is inimical to public peace and national security as well as their ongoing trial which will run its course in accordance with the laws of the land, Malami said.

This is coming a few hours after the Abuja federal high court judge, Ahmed Mohammed, withdrew from the fundamental human right enforcement suit filed by the Sahara Reporters publisher and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, seeking an immediate order for his release from the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS). Dasuki who was also arrested after President Buhari resumed his first term in office on basis of an arms deal scandal netting billions of dollars is expected to be released too.
