5 Music Videos You Definitely Should See At Least One Time.

/

The new year kicks off with artists putting resources into sealing their sounds in the minds of fans, old and new, with visuals that do the song justice. And at More Branches, we have put together a list of 5 of the new videos from the 5 weeks of 2020 that you absolutely have to see.

Zamir — Munchies Feat. Amaarae

First on my list is my favorite music video since the start of the decade *whoop whoop*, L.O.S’ Zamir’s super colorful, super subtle, super sexy video for “Munchies”. Directed by Zamir and Prassarscollective and featuring a highlight of a moment with Amaarae’s entire verse and on-screen performance, it is impossible to not love.

Rema — Rema’s Realm Episode 1.

Yes! And I know I said “music videos” but the truth is I don’t exactly know what this is and maybe I shouldn’t worry about the details too much. International Superstar teams up with Visual Powerhouses Ademola Falomo, TSE and Chukwuebuka Nwobu to bring this fun-as-hell video that can only be described as “what Rema imagines his life as before he makes those trap freestyle videos”. And also, I think he might be a good actor? With training of course.

Burna Boy — Secret Feat. Jeremih & Serani

The African Giant himself takes a spot on our list with the video for one of the songs of his Grammy-nominated album “African Giant”, “Secret” alongside USA’s Jeremih and Jamaica’s Serani. Sticking to a nighttime aesthetic with the colors, the locations and although minimalistic as we often see in Burna videos, the entire video comes together to an outrightly enjoyable experience.

Darkovibes — Come My Way Feat. Mr Eazi

La Meme Gang OG, Darkovibes teams up with Mr. Eazi for the Yaw Skyface directed video of the smash hit “Come My Way” where a series of events plays out as he makes attempts to woo someone else’s lover. The video resonates with the Accra nightlife in so many ways and is put together quite nicely.

Beniton — Struggles Feat. Stonebwoy

With beautiful views from Cape Coast Castle, Ghana-based rising star, Beniton directs alongside Slingshot, the video for his heartfelt single “Struggles” featuring Ghanaian rapper Stonebwoy. The aesthetic established by the scenery in this video matches the story of progress in the song and it is a joy to watch.
