It’s an amazing thing that you can load up the internet and find a new talented artist in a matter of minutes, it never seems to fail me, and this morning the first artist that I found was Waji who recently dropped a 2-track project called ‘City on Stars’.
Both tracks City on Stars/Dahlia are deeply personal in their imperfections and a wonderful complement to Waji’s compelling culmination of sound and personality. The 19 year old artist who identifies as non-binary creates a carefree brand of music that sonically can flow in between lo-fi drums, out-of-tune piano, alternative striking guitar progressions and heart-strung vocals. On this new joint, she addresses her lost love escapades and fantasies whilst representing everything that makes her such an exciting new artist.
