Keziah Mallam is out with “Rulebreaker”, featuring President Zik, and it is the first song from a project she is producing entirely herself, due next year.
The single dropped on 29 October and runs 3 minutes, 8 seconds. It sets her voice over a groove-driven instrumental, and Zik’s feature brings a fresh dynamic to her catalogue.
Keziah’s route here has not been a straight line. She hails from Kaduna, grew up between Croydon in South London and Abuja, and plays, sings, writes and produces. She calls what she does Audio Therapy, a blend of R&B, funk, soul and African music that moves between genres without settling into one.

That range is the whole point of the new project. Keziah is steering how it sounds and where it goes, and “Rulebreaker” is the opening statement, a first look at the variety to expect.
