Skillz8Figure – After Dark
Skillz8Figure debut project, Gangsta Luv, was quick to gain rapid success and set him as one of the best talents to come out of Ghana last year. Wasting no time, he started 2021 by releasing the feel-good Afro-pop song titled 4 Life. Featuring Twitch 4EVA, 4 Life served as the lead single for his sophomore project, and was followed by Like Dat, which featured Nigerian rapper Psycho YP.
Making use of Afropop elements while blending his Ghanian and Sierra Leonean influences, the eight-track After Dark serves as his sophomore project and sees features from Oxlade, Melissa, Enam, Psycho YP, and Twitch 4EVA.
Ruger – Pandemic the EP
Coming from a heavily musical background that has seen him move from singing in church to sharing freestyle videos on Instagram, which got D’Prince to sign him to Jonzing World, leading to his debut single One Shirt which featured Rema and D’Prince. One Shirt was instantly followed by the self-titled Ruger, which serves as the opening to his debut project, Pandemic.
Pink haired, pirate patch, and air that screams cockiness, Ruger defines and shows mastery of his style, a blend of reggae, Afropop, and trap melodies, on the six tracks EP.
