Apple is the biggest company in the music streaming business right now, the company has grown to 50 million subscribers on it’s streaming service Apple Music. They’ve also launched a music-publishing division and hosted a number of exclusive concerts and documentaries for various artists they’ve signed to their roster. All this content gives Apple Music a large data offering of what and who we’re are listening to.
In their latest update rollout launched on Friday, the company will begin it’s own top 100 charts, the 116 charts will be paired with playlists for both global and regional statistics. In a demo to Rolling Stone, Apple Music executives showed how the charts — one global chart and a top 100 chart for every country in which Apple Music is available — are grouped together under the platform’s “Browse” tab and have a similar visual appearance to that of playlists or albums. Each chart is updated daily at 12 a.m. PST. Android users, meanwhile, will have to wait for a new update.

Apple Music gave all of its subscribers’ access to the new charts feature on Friday, while broader updates to Apple’s software and hardware products are expected to be presented at the company’s September 12 event, Rolling Stone Reports.
