Amazon Prime Video has announced the premiere date for its latest Nigerian mini-series, SHE Must Be Obeyed, starring award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele. The five-part drama series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on September 29, 2023.

SHE Must Be Obeyed offers a captivating glimpse into the intriguing world of stardom and secrets, following the lives of three successful music stars as they navigate the cutthroat rivalries and backstabbing activities that come with maintaining their positions at the top of the industry.

Akindele commands the spotlight as SHE – Siyanbola Adewale, a thriving artist whose public humility conceals a realm of avarice, hubris, and Machiavellian schemes. The series cast also includes Nancy Isime, Abdulateef Adedimeji, Akah Anani, Veeiye, Waje, Patience Ozokwo, Rachael Okonkwo, and Mike Ezuronye.

Produced by SceneOne Entertainment, SHE Must Be Obeyed is a front-row ticket to the high drama, unyielding ambition, and unbridled passion that fuels the obsession with fame, all served with a generous dose of comedy.

“We are thrilled to bring Prime Video customers around the world this exciting new mini-series from Nigeria,” said Ned Mitchell, Head of Originals for Africa and the Middle East for Amazon Studios. “SHE Must Be Obeyed is a captivating and suspenseful story with a stellar cast, and we can’t wait for our customers to see it.

SHE Must Be Obeyed is the latest Nigerian Original to join Prime Video’s growing library of content from Africa, which includes the award-winning film Brotherhood, the popular reality series The Real Housewives of Lagos, and the upcoming drama series Gbomo Gbomo Express.
