#BestNewMusic: Gyakie, Naira Marley, Ayra Starr, Zlatan, Buju, Tomi Owó, Ogranya & more

Since listeners caught wind of Gyakie’s “Seed” EP in late 2020, which included the hit song “Forever,” the spotlight has been patiently waiting on her next offering, this week, the daughter of Ghanaian Highlife legend, Nana Acheampong, is back with a new soulful single. Naira Marley also dropped a new jam, “Drug Test” in usual Naira Marley Fashion, he speaks on unorthodox themes which ironically surround daily life in Nigeria. Ayra Starr’s debut album is finally here, and it is a potpourri of soothing sounds that exhibit Ayra’s range. This week’s list also includes standout tracks from Zlatan, Blxkie, Ria Sean, Dunnie, Ogranya, Dremo & more.

Friday has become the de-facto release day in the music industry, a plethora of tracks vie to become the soundtrack of that weekend and beyond. Sifting through it all every Friday morning can be overwhelming for many listeners, so every week we compile some highlights.
