Clearly Invincible’s Comprehensive African Fashion Weeks Calendar

/

In February, Clearly Invincible introduced the African Fashion Weeks Calendar; a curated, centralised resource tracking the key fashion weeks across the continent. Today, we’re sharing the updated edition: a more refined and expanded version, with broader regional coverage and a sharper focus on fashion events that are actively shaping the African fashion landscape. This calendar is a vital resource for fashion designers, media, enthusiasts, and sponsors, helping them identify key events, plan collaborations, and stay up-to-date with Africa’s dynamic fashion scene.

This calendar is an editorially led, research-backed project. Every event featured has been reviewed against a clear set of criteria. The result is a living map of where fashion is thriving across North, West, East, Central, Southern Africa and in Diaspora.

Our primary criteria for the selected fashion weeks are:

  • Consistent operations (for certain fashion weeks, we’ve taken into account infrastructural challenges that may have led to brief pauses)
  • Quality in the show’s production
  • Overall contribution to the circulation of Africa’s fashion economy
  • Support for eco-conscious fashion and responsible production
  • How long the fashion week has been running and how many editions it has held

“This is a Clearly Invincible effort, built from the ground up by our team. As a fashion services and media agency, our work goes beyond visibility as we build the infrastructure for long-term growth. We know that a centralised fashion calendar might seem like a small tool, but it’s an essential one. It helps buyers, journalists, collaborators, media and investors understand what’s happening across the continent and when.”

Why this calendar matters
African fashion is the new luxury. It’s original, culturally rooted, and increasingly global in its appeal. From Lagos to Nairobi, Accra to Addis, designers are setting new standards for what luxury looks and feels like. But while the talent is clear, the systems that should support that talent often lag behind. One of the biggest gaps is visibility and documentation and that’s exactly what this calendar is working to improve. As Africa’s fashion economy continues to grow, we believe it must be protected and propelled. That starts with access to reliable information.

What’s in it

  • Full calendar with fashion week months and regions across Africa
  • Full calendar with fashion week months and regions across Africa running for less than 10 years but have showed exceptionalism in their production and efforts to circulate Africa’s fashion economy
  • Names/logos of founders, partner organisations and sponsors
  • Clearly invincible contact details for updates

A collaborative and evolving resource: The African Fashion Weeks Calendar will continue to be updated, expanded, and improved. Collaboration, feedback, and suggestions from the founders/founding organisations themselves, media, organisers, designers, and industry insiders are welcome. The goal is to keep this resource open, accurate, and deeply relevant.
