Coachella 2020 may be postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

The 2020 edition of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival billed to hold in April may likely not hold. Although the organisers haven’t released an official statement yet, there are reports that they are already deliberating over a postponement due to public health concerns. Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella is currently informing artists’ agents about the rumoured development and confirming available acts for the new dates.

Over the past two weeks, events have been cancelled around the world due to rising tensions caused by the pandemic. Some of these events include the BTS South Korea tour, SXSW in Austin-Texas, TomorrowLand in France and Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

As at the time of publication (10/03/2020), four COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Indio, California were Coachella takes place. City officials told Los Angeles Magazine they would support whatever the festival deemed necessary. But the signs of a postponement are glaring and a statement may be released in the next 48 hours.

This year’s headliners include Frank Ocean, Rage Against the Machine, and Travis Scott. Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Thom Yorke, Run the Jewels, Danny Elfman, FKA twigs, DaBaby, 21 Savage, Caribou, Lil Nas X and more.
