Get Familiar with Mr Eazi’s #emPawa30 Africa Program artists.

Nigerian singer and music executive Mr Eazi has unveiled the 30 artists who will be taking part in the second edition of his talent incubator program. Empawa’s admission rate may even be as tight as Harvard and Andela considering that over 30,000 musicians applied to benefit from the program. Each artist will receive a $10,000 grant to go towards a music video, along with mentorship from professional singers, producers, and video directors including DJ Neptune, E Kelly, Harmonize, Shekinah, DJ Maphorisa, Diplo and the artist himself.

JoeBoy, Lady Donli and Karun belong the the pilot class of artists under the programAt inception, Mr. Eazi funded 100 artists across Africa with $3,000 grants. The money was primarily budgeted to cover the cost of a music video. But things may have taken a new turn this time around; Eazi has reduced the number of artists to be incubated at a time. He is also pumping in more resources, up to $10,000 per artist since the cost of video productions and marketing have increased since then. The 10 artists who display the most promise will be flown to a three-week masterclass in Ghana this June, where they will receive business, songwriting, marketing and production training while working in a state-of-the-art recording studio. Of these, two artists will receive additional funding to cover management, marketing and legal fees throughout 2020, as well as to create additional music and videos.
