Grammy-Nominated Nigerian Hitmaker Lojay Links Up with Two-Time MOBO Winner Odeal on Sizzling New Single ‘MWAH!’

/

Grammy nominated Afrobeats singer-songwriter Lojay joins forces with two-time MOBO Award winner Odeal for their first-ever collaboration, ‘Mwah!’, a sultry, slow-burning anthem that delves into the intoxicating themes of love, passion, and desire. The track marks a groundbreaking Lagos-London link-up, bringing together two artists who are riding high on their recent Grammy and MOBO accolades, respectively.

Building on the sonic foundation of his recent single Sarz-produced ‘Somebody Like You’, ‘Mwah!’ offers a tantalising glimpse into what fans can expect from Lojay’s highly anticipated debut album, currently in the works and slated for release later this year.

Lojay expressed his enthusiasm about joining forces with Odeal, stating:
“The best thing about ‘Mwah!’ was how unexpectedly it came to life. I had listened to Odeal’s music before meeting him, but I really didn’t know what to expect from the session. I think that was part of what made it so magical. The chemistry was instant, and ‘Mwah!’ was the first song to come out of our first link-up.”

This new single marks the first collaboration between Lojay and Odeal, who is fresh off winning two MOBO awards for “Best Newcomer” and “Best R&B/Soul Act”. Coming off a monumental year for Odeal, his two EPs, ‘Sundays at Zuri’s’ and ‘Lustropolis’, have collectively amassed over 40 million streams on Spotify, solidifying his place as one of the UK’s most exciting talents. Odeal has also recently collaborated with Grammy-nominated Summer Walker on the track ‘You’re Stuck’, further cementing his global appeal.

The release of ‘Mwah!’ comes hot on the heels of Lojay’s recent GRAMMY nomination for ‘Sensational’, alongside global superstars Chris Brown and Davido. Lojay also made a surprise appearance during Chris Brown’s sold-out show in South Africa in December, performing to a massive crowd of 100,000 fans over two days. This electrifying moment not only showcased Lojay’s growing international appeal but also capped off an extraordinary year of milestones for the 28-year-old.
