Edo born UFC fighter Kamaru Usman made history as he became the first Nigerian as well as African to win a UFC championship.
The bout featured Kamaru “the Nigerian Nightmare” Usman against Tyron ”the chosen one” Woodley. Before the fight, Usman came in shorthand with a fractured foot, lesser experience and wins than his opponent having recorded 14 wins and 1 loss while Tyron has 19 wins with 3 losses.
The fight gave five rounds of action packed heavy hitting and takedowns, with Usman winning the welterweight belt by unanimous decision 50-44, 50-44 and 50-45.
