Off the back of working with Nigerian music superstars like Burna Boy, Ice Prince, M.I, Falz, multidimensional artist STRAFFITTI released an Afro-pop album on September 11 2020. STRAFFITTI describes it as a seamless combination and transition of Afro-HipHop, Afro-beats, Afro-soul & Afro-fusion. The album features cameos from Zlatan Ibile, Buju, Ice Prince, Prettyboy DO, KidaKudz & PsychoYP.
STRAFFITTI glides on an Afro-rhythm melody on ‘Necessary’ whilst recounting the struggles of a young creative chasing a music dream in Nigeria. He then yearns for lost love on ‘Aaliyah’ ruminating on his last relationship and whether things could’ve turned out differently. On ‘Shanawole & Lepa’ we get in tune with the afro-pop core of the project. ‘Shanawole’ alley-oops some Ampiano and STRAFFITTI slam dunks it accordingly. ‘Lepa’ features some hardknocking percussions which STRAFFITTI does well to get under control.
On this project, STRAFFITTI exhibits an artist coming in full swing, with the dichotomy of depth and feel-good music. STRAFFITTI is gradually setting out his niche of Afro-pop while maintaining the stance that no genres can be a barrier to him.
