LYB who recently put out his sophomore track ‘Hold You Down’–– a feel-good afropop record largely inspired after the rekindling an unhealthy relationship. At first listen, the record sounds like the typical afropop recipe but it subtly becomes an irresistible bop as far as you get. Lyb says his music is influenced by the likes of Bob Marley, Runtown, Mr Eazi, Future and Popcaan, a list that summarises the wholesomeness of his music.
Although he only has a few singles and collaborations out, he’s been recording since 2016 and has taught himself how to play a few instrument, a skill that strengthens the weight of emotional lyricism expressed by the artist. The artist us currently working on his debut EP which will be out by the third quarter of the year, revealing that it features collaborations from other young, talented artists and producers.
