#LyricMondays is a mini-segment under the music branch, we’ll be taking a look at some of the music being released by young Africans and breaking down what they’re trying to say.
Pandemonium Lyrics
{Verse 1}
Life is a game, different levels but it’s all the same
Everybody steady working for the wrong change, except all my brothers building up the New Age
Open up your mind, don’t be in denial
Listen to the flows baby, drown in the Nile
Too deep, the way I think I’m feeling, so I preach before I put myself to sleep
Stop living life hoping for a remote cause the showers of blessing don’t show on your clothes
Playing in the rain but I never catch a cold while these ignorant haters staying wearing raincoats
The verse has Tonero taking about enlightenment and reaching a certain consciousness that keeps one’s mind about the distractions and mediocre values of the world, he wants everyone to come together to form a community ready to push a new African perspective forward.
{Hook}
Hey my friend, are you ready to learn the truth
If you hear me, hold my hands, let me save you from
Pandemonium, Pandemonium, Pandemonium, Pandemonium
The hook continues what he’s begun in the first verse, calling to people to leave their distress of the world, probably the African environment which he’s called ‘Pandemonium’ and learn the truth of being free in mind.
{Verse 2}
African women plugging up my mind, codeine chilling cooling off my mind, too high but I’m never terrified
Gotta stay focused so I never backslide
Praying to my father for a long life, pray that he takes my music worldwide
Me and my niggas dreaming past the sky so hold my hands and we could fly
Positive vibes on another level, all happiness will only bring the devil, in, so you got to be very careful
Just let the fire burn in your blood vessels
The second verse has a more chilled approach, Tonero is caught in the world himself. A reminder that he’s not above the world himself and he needs to be focused not to fall off.
{Hook}
Hey my friend, are you ready to learn the truth
If you hear me, hold my hands, let me save you from…
Pandemonium, Pandemonium, Pandemonium, Pandemonium
