Thandi Marie makes a soulful debut with R&B tune titled, “Brand New”. Currently based in Canada, the Malawian-born songstress has had the privilege of shuffling between different countries growing up, such as South Africa, Spain and the UAE.
“Music has always been a constant in my life, regardless of where in the world I find myself”, she says, Thandi’s exposure to a wide variety of cross-cultural experiences is quite evident in her unique alternative sound.
On her debut single, the earthy-toned songstress is in a vulnerable state as she sings in an open and honest way throughout the melodies and flows of the song. Not only are the soulful lyrics speaking to a love interest, but they are also targeted towards her past, less secure self. The slow but steady evolution of the first verse to the last creates a soothing yet heartfelt listening experience.
