More Branches Unplugged — New Music Weekend!

February has seen, in its quick two weeks, a lot of sounds come at us and at like More Branches we have a list of singles and projects you should update your music library and playlists ready for a new week.

Here’s our favorite new music.

Mafeni – 3P

The god pen is home. An undeniable force in the rap scene since he blessed us with “Enjoy” in 2016, only releasing a handful of singles . This 3 track 6 minute body of work has all the reminders (and pointers for new listeners) of the ability of this man to sing, and out of nowhere spit a verse that shows skill without any buts on anything.

Wande Coal – Again

Sultry as usual from the Afro-R&B legend, Wande Coal tells the world and his muse that this new found love will change his life and he’s ready for it. Go listen to the Melvitto produced track Here

Ogranya & EFYA – Wicked

Ogranya and EFYA are spicy with their takes on being in love with and being a wicked lover respectfully. The production from Benny Que sets the right mood for Wicked.

Zarion Uti – War

Afro Pop star Zarion Uti comes through with a sweeter banger that has you dancing from the start and has you caught in his story of new found love as is befitting of the season we’re in.

Terry G – Inspiration ft. Prettyboy D-O

Terry G finally gives us this long awaited collaboration with Midas himself Prettyboy D-O. The lowkey instrumental carries a sweet 420 anthem from Terry’s vocal performance that goes from nasal to obnoxious and back again and D-O’s smooth assist. It’s an easy banger, but I’ll let you say that yourself.

Kiyo – M.I.A

Clean, precise, well thought out and a joy to listen to. Hip-hop artist Kiyo keeps to his run of fire singles with M.I.A where he’s, in his own words, “just vibing for real” as he touches on personal growth, relationships, struggles, finding his way around music and all the love in between.

AYLØ – Project 19

AYLØ has promised us that the project is ready and while we wait the super versatile artist surprises us with this 2 minute sonic pleasure. Produced by Benny Que and featuring only one minute of an actual performance here’s AYLØ’s Project 19

Kida Kudz – Nasty

In and out of the spotlight and constantly evolving since he was 16, Kida Kudz is not new to the game and he has picked up a few things on his way. All the experience and exposure show for on his “Nasty” project (and like he professed on “Raw Dinner” he is really really Nasty.) There are a whole lot of bangers on this, it’s refreshing to have the Jiggy Boi come through solid on a full length as opposed to singles and features like we usually have.

Caesar Is King – Letter To My Slimes

125 Hitman, Caesar Is King, keeps his catalog shiny with this new single where he pens down a verse or two in appreciation of the people closest to him and the people who have identified with his journey. I think it quite immortalizes their effect as friends and supporters and the delivery and storytelling are impeccable.

Listen to Caesar Is King talk about life and the people that make it mean on “Letter To My Slimes” Here

Kufré – First Born EP

Hip-Hop/Trap artist Kufré talks self, journeys, the past, the future, the goals on his 6 track EP “First Son”. Listening you will find your head bobbing and your mind registering moments on this project you can relate to. Some of my favorite moments are on “Alariwo” featuring Mojo and the closer “Tell My Aunty” with frequent collaborator Dr. Barz. Give Kufré’s “First Son” ears.

Olamide – Dancing With The Devil (feat Sosa-E & Jackmillz)

Olamide’s 999 project was out this week and off of it we picked “Dancing With The Devil” featuring Sosa-E and Jackmillz, who took the spotlight this track gave them and let the listeners know to watch out for them. Cocky and well paced these boys set this song up to work for them.

You should listen to form your opinions Here.

Johnson IP – Jungle EP

Last but not least is the Extended Play from 44DB’s producer extraordinaire Johnson IP. The 4 tracks featuring some of the heaviest production from Johnson IP and performances from Manuel Cole as the genres switch from Trap to Afro Beat and back again.
