Anjola Fagbemi is a Nigerian Youtuber and the mind behind the brand TheBejewelledBud who creates content channeled from her personal experiences. In a world where the representation of people of color, Africans, especially African women are becoming more prominent, minds like Anjola play an important role in this. Through a simple video of her telling stories and airing her opinions to an audience, other women, and girls who feel misunderstood and trapped can find a haven and feel connected, empowered and beautiful.
With her first short film ‘THE NAKED TRUTH: A JOURNEY TO SELF LOVE‘, she’s able to do this again, this time not with her voice but the voice of two other women sharing their love of self, their art, beauty, and appreciation of feminine hood. The story short in minimal clips captures the elements of both women being in their innate, free and blissful self, a message that we should all take in appreciating and respecting the women around us.
