It’s another year, which means another Oscar night but also a remeberance of our dashed hopes, that Lionheart – Nigeria’s first-ever Oscar submission for best international feature film was disqualified. But that’s a story for another day. This morning, nominations for the 92nd Oscars was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences a.k.a. The oscars are undoubtedly one of cinema’s top prizes, and the crown jewel of awards season (encompassing the Golden Globes, several guild awards like the SAGs, and the BAFTAs, among others). The honors for Best Picture, directing, and writing, as well as the four acting trophies, are the standout awards of the night.
