PithAfrica releases new products themed ‘Same Energy’

/

Last year we spotlighted the youth-driven fashion brand PithAfrica, showcasing their two mini-collections under the fashion project ‘Dilly‘ and the social agenda behind why they create such minimally pleasing designs.

The company is now set to release a new range of products for an ever-growing millennial fanbase. The new products are Pith Knockoff Tees, Pith Cargo Pants and Guerrilla Bucket Hat. They’ve themed the new range of products ‘Same Energy’.

In their words:

“We’ve themed the new products drop ‘Same Energy’ because of the youthful spirit inspired in the pieces. We want to showcase the essence behind the unique style of young Nigerians living through the beauty and problems of their environment. Each product selected carries this narrative.

The ‘Guerrilla Bucket Hat’ both functional and stylish with its Vibrant colors carries the political statement ‘Fuck The Government’ embroidered on the brim. To voice out the youth’s impatience with the terrible way the current government runs the country.

The Pith Knock-Off Tee shows we’re connected to the global world and understand the trends regardless of our third world state, it also shows our resourcefulness. Our ability to take a broken narrative like ‘knock-offs’ as our own, recreating it as something we can appreciate.

It’s also a way to quench our thirst for luxury. In this part of the world brands like ‘Off White’ or ‘Vetement’ aren’t within the reach of low income earners and by creating this shirt we can bring them closer our own version.

The Cargo Pants are made for the young millennial always on the move, creating, innovating, dreaming, and fighting the harsh terrains around him.

The ‘Same Energy’ we’re projecting with the release of these products is a narrative that speaks to the youth in us to keep on disrupting the outdated notions of Nigeria’s large youthful demographic.”
