Simi and Falz Team Up Again in Sun-Kissed Single “Borrow Me Your Baby”

Afro-pop star Simi is back with Nigerian rapper Falz in her radiant new single, “Borrow Me Your Baby.” The track, launched under Simi’s independent label Studio Brat, is a stunning Afrobeats piece adorned with lush harmonies, delicate guitar riffs, and reverb-laden synths, complemented by Falz’s dynamic verses.

Simi expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “It’s probably unacceptable to have such great music chemistry with someone and not continue to tap into it. I love creating songs with Falz because we bring out the goofiest sides of each other.” Falz echoed this sentiment, sharing, “Super excited to be creating music with Simi again. The magic we make when we come together is crazy. I feel like everyone has lowkey been craving this link up. Clearly the best duo that exists aside from rice and stew.”

Marking Simi’s third single of 2024, “Borrow Me Your Baby” will feature on her upcoming album. It follows her successful collaboration with Tiwa Savage on the track “Men Are Crazy,” which received support from major platforms like BBC 1Xtra, CNN, The Independent, Nylon, and OkayAfrica. Simi’s previous singles include “All I Want” and the highly praised ballad “Stranger” from last year, with 2024 also seeing her collaborate with Candy Bleakz and Adekunle Gold. Notably, she joined Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys on her North American ‘Keys To The Summer’ tour last year.
