Off the back of releasing two music videos earlier this year, Ghanaian Collective, SuperJazzClub, are back with new music and aim to grow their newfound audience.
‘Jungle’ sees the indie collective tapping into their love of atmospheric sounds and fusing that with African rhythms. The 3+ minute song takes off with an ambient performance of vocals and ASMR-like details of whispers. The song proceeds into the afro rhythm while still maintaining its ambient elements.
‘Jungle’ serves as a cautious reminder of deceit usually in the domain of romantic relationships. The song warns its audience to be mindful of people who would say anything just to win trust and get what they want. Written by all members of the collective and produced by ‘Spend Some Time’ [Amaarae & Wande Coal] producer, Øbed.
A music video for ‘Jungle’ is scheduled for release later this year, as well as a live show in Accra planned for late November. SuperJazzClub continue to push the boundaries of experimentation in music through fusion with this new track.
