Niniola – 6th Heaven
For her follow up to 2020’s Colours and Sound album, the Nigerian queen of Afrohouse, Niniola, shows she can do it all. Her latest body of work, 6th Heaven, is a five track EP that sees Niniola explore R&B, in the style of 90s and early 2000 R&B singers , a genre that is close to her early beginnings in talent shows. 6th Heaven sees Niniola explore and use her vocal range more as she sings about love and its challenges, and sex in the vivid manner only she does.
Zlatan and Oladips – Mainland to Island
When Zlatan decides to rap, he shows he’s more than just a hitmaker but a darn good rapper. Teaming up with fellow indigenous rapper, Oladips, Mainland to Island tells their grass to grace story and taps into the Lagos dream of moving from the ghetto to becoming house owners on the Island. With production credit from P.Prime, Mainland to Island is the lead single off Zlatan and Oladips joint project.
Darkoo – Pick Up
Nigerian British rapper who broke into the scene in 2019 with her singles Gangsta and Kryptonite, releases her debut single for the year Pick Up. Pick Up is an heart opening song about unreciprocated love.
Jaylon, Minz, & Toni Dada – My Darling
Over sparse instrumentals, My Darling blends piano sounds and a simple drum loop, with Minz open the laid back single taking the chorus before fellow feature artist’s Toni Dada’s verse. In a tweet, producer and singer, Jalyon talks about how the song has existed since 2017 before he finally decided to give it an official release.
Hitboy Kellz – Confused
Hitboy Kellz from southern Nigeria, is an Afro beat artist with a bias for Reggae and RnB, this exceptional fusion makes his style quite unique .
His latest song titled ‘Confused‘ is produced by Ace Beat maker Northboi & showcases a blend of RnB and Reggae styles over a very smooth and melodic instrumental.
