Voices Of Music: BankyOnDBeatz gets traditional on new track ‘Omoluabi’

BankyOnDBeatz is a massive influence on his generation’s music, with pairs like GMK who’s part of the collective that gave Banky his spotlight, Monster Boyz and Bond another fellow producer born into a generation of abstract music creators who don’t bound their music by any native understanding, instead they are privileged to listen to a large array of music giving their production chops more beauty and sounds to explore. This is evident in BankyOnDBeatz production and song arrangement, his use of percussions and drums gives a wonderful aroma of music he can genuinely call his own.

His last single Afromadtown enlisted the help of the trio of amazing singers Lady Donli, Dj Yin, Preyé all doing justice to the crazy genius with their melodies on a well crafted Afrocentric-Electro vibe.

On his new track ‘Omoluabi‘ his experimentative nature pushes him to do something different birthing a folk-pop tune with an infectious hook, “E ma gbagbe (never forget), this isn’t love, this is grace/ The stars no dey hustle for space”. The song featured Jinmi Abdul’s exquisite vocals which bring out the soul of the soft percussions in harmony as the drums glide into a well-delivered verse by Tobi Sunmola, some might say infusing rap is a bit too much but this is the nature of BankyOnDBeatz’s music, the ability he has to fuse different elements into one body.
