Temitayo Jaiyeola on paper, Tayo on stage, Tayoislitty with close friends, this newbie 22 year old graduate is one of the emerging voices booming out of Africa’s biggest music industry. Like D’banj or Terry G, this young man started indulging his passion for music at a very young age by joining the choir in his family church (Lagos, Nigeria) and also learned to play several musical instruments.
Although he wasn’t privileged to attend the music school of his choice, Tayo amazingly recorded his first song when he was 10 years old, a cover to a classic, Opposite Of Adult by Chi bangz. His first official single was released a few years after, another cover, but for Justin Bieber’s ‘Friday Night’.

His latest single ‘Ready’ featured incredible music producer and sound engineer – Adey, explaining that the outcome of the song was due to the sharp chemistry formed by the two music makers. As the year ticks, Tayo doesn’t intend to be left behind; he’s working on a music video for the single and has recorded a couple of songs for his fans, we also expect to see him in a number of shows in Lagos during the holidays.

Currently, he is not signed to any record labels and also doesn’t intend to, as he founded his own movement ‘Spaz Incorporation’ – ample with creative minds and a network of people with the sole aim of getting his music across the globe. Like he emphasizes, Tayo makes music for a targeted audience unlike popular nigerian models, he believes that music shouldn’t be stereotypical but instead, seen as a general language. He doesn’t have a focused genre and believes he can do well at every possible and relatable music category, multidimensional I must say. When asked about the vision for his work, he talked plans on dabbling into other career options media and businesses in the future but for now, Tayo’s Ready is available on all music discovery apps.
