Wani Wonder’s Season Is Almost Here, But Something For His Ladies First

There are seldom artists who have shaped the sounds and styles that will define the future of Afro-pop music as much as Wani Wonder has since his breakout project ‘Lagos City Vice vol 1’. Still moving forward and pushing his sound as far as he possibly can with each successive drop and features, Wani has now returned to the scenes with his own 2020 debut ‘All my Ladies’, a track produced by Adey and partly influenced by Nigeria pop legends The Remedies’ Shako Mo and Diana King’s Shy Guy opener.

As the instrumental begins, his filtered vocal sample takes shape with floating synths of some sort entering the picture and being elevated by equally peaceful percussions that just create a foundation that rides out magnificently. Wani opts to go with a carefree, melodious delivery that complements the beat seamlessly. His words are somewhat blended together in a way that slides along with the tempo perfectly, but every lyric and emotion is still clear and defined despite this fusion.

Undoubtedly one of Nigeria’s leading hitmaker in the underground, Wani has found the perfect level of consistency, masterful artistry, and diversification over his years in the industry and his now ready to take it on to the next level; All My Ladies is a testament to this growth, coupled with his recent signing to Platoon, a music talent development company run by tech conglomerate Apple. If you still aren’t a fan, this song is the ultimate conversion and a worthy build-up to the sequel to the Lagos City Vice. Listen to ‘All My Ladies’ here.
