We recently reported the indefinite ban on Jadesola Osiberu’s sophomore film ‘Sugar Rush’ – a Nigerian comedy-drama that made ₦40 million in its opening week, and reached a whopping figure of ₦152 million in two weeks after it’s release. Even though the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board denied it, there are insinuations the movie was suspended because of portrayal of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Instead he said the movie wasn’t fully approved before hitting cinemas nationwide.
Spare all that jargon, the good news is….
The NFVCB have lifted their ban and granted it all the approval it needs to avoid organized bullying. According to its Excitive Director, Adedayo Thomas: “The past week has been eventful for us as an organization with diverse speculations in the media on the perceived ban of Sugar Rush movie at the cinemas while we were still doing our due diligence on the movie for final approval.”
