If you’re deep into Nigeria’s underground rap scene, then you must know Nakie4000. The alt-cultured, Lagos-based rapper is quite popular for action-packed and emotive performances along with his mob every time he’s on stage. After the release of his EP ‘Rapture‘ in 2019, the rapperfuck has revealed plans for upcoming studio album ‘MURDERCLOUT‘ set for release later in June.
Before then, Nakie is giving us a sneak peek into what he calls his best work yet, with his latest single, one of the tracks off the album. On MIA, the rapper takes us through a psychedelic themed beat with an airtight cadence on which he reminisces about a lover who is driving him crazy. The synth-heavy production is a drugged-out love song filled with pain and a dedication to party through the fuck shit. The song is a testament of Nakie’s newly defined sound setting sets him up for a notable entry into the Nigerian hip-hop conversation.
