FARE Presents “Tailoring Ring” – A Capsule Collection Unveiled During the Closing Night of Mois de la Mode 2025

/

Held annually in Cotonou, Benin Republic, Mois de la Mode has become a key event for the Beninese and African fashion scene. Designed as a platform to support and elevate the local creative industry, the event brings together designers, models, artisans, buyers, media, and fashion enthusiasts from across the region.

For its 7th edition, the Beninese brand FARE was invited to present an exclusive collection during the closing night of Mois de la mode, alongside several emerging local labels.

Entitled ‘Tailoring Ring’, this collection is envisioned as a series of six silhouettes that question heritage and its place in the present; the aim here is to express a deeply rooted, free, contemporary, and political identity.

‘Tailoring Ring’ draws from tailoring techniques, sportswear lines, and artisanal savoir-faire to create a hybrid wardrobe, grounded in past gestures yet resolutely turned toward today. Each detail, from botanical indigo and symbolic beads to reassembled pagnes and fabrics woven in Abomey by artisans from the royal lineages, serves as a visual statement.

Through this collection, FARE continues to explore clothing as a tool for storytelling and empowerment, in a context where African designers are writing their own narratives, on their own terms.
