Terra Industries has announced plans to establish what is expected to be Africa’s largest drone manufacturing facility in Ghana, signaling a major step in the continent’s entry into advanced aerial technology.
The proposed factory will serve as a production and innovation hub for unmanned aerial systems, with a focus on scaling drone manufacturing for both commercial and industrial applications. The company says the facility is part of a broader plan to expand its aerial systems portfolio significantly by 2028.
The project is expected to position Ghana as a key player in Africa’s emerging drone and aerospace sector, while also contributing to local job creation and technical capacity development.
Industry observers see the move as part of a growing trend of tech infrastructure investments across Africa, as companies look to build locally and reduce reliance on imports while tapping into regional markets.
