Friday has become the de-facto release day in the music industry, and a plethora of tracks vie to become the soundtrack of that weekend and beyond. Sifting through it all every Friday morning can be overwhelming for many listeners, so every week we compile some highlights.
Wizkid — Bad To Me
Wizkid, is back in release mode after the successful run of his fourth studio album “Made In Lagos”. He explores the beauty of Amapiano on his debut year opener track titled “Bad To Me.” Trying an experimental approach with the solo track, he perfectly fine-tunes the South African subgenre Amapiano. With the P2J-produced Bad To Me, the Afrobeats Starboy welcomes us to the ember month season.
Ayra Starr — Rush
Ayra Starr’s vocal, becomes sooting and at the same time arresting on the Andre Vibez and Henri Velasco’s produced “Rush.” She renders the R&B and pop-infused track with a slow-burning passion, as she focuses on talking about things people can easily relate to. Ayra Starr examines life, also poised personal experiences forward on her potential hit yet groovy record.
Lojay — Leader
For Lojay, P.Prime served him a mellow and mild offering. And he infused the stylishly exotic lyrics that make him an outstanding creator. His current drop “Leader,” sounds exciting.
Zlatan Ibile — Jaboti
Zlatan Ibile returns after the release of the successful Davido-assisted “Money.” His current bubbly and anthemic sophomore track of 2022 “Jaboti,” was laced with his story and journey so far. He shows his scars and vulnerability and opens up about his life generally.
Other notable releases this week include songs from Idahams, BadBoy Timz, Odunsi, Iyanya, Kayode, Musakeys feat. Louii & Victony, Brown Joel, and more.
