#BestNewMusic: Wande Coal, Wizkid, Bella Shmurda & Blaqbonez headline an action-packed week

Friday has become the de-facto release day in the music industry, a plethora of tracks vie to become the soundtrack of that weekend and beyond. Sifting through it all every Friday morning can be overwhelming for many listeners, so every week we compile some highlights.

Wande Coal — “Umbrella”

Wande Coal drops a new single and visual  titled, ‘Umbrella.’ Co-written by grammy-nominated producer  Sak Pase, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Sean Kingston and Wande Coal, the single comes as the first visual offering and second single from EMPIRE’s new compilation album Where We Come From (VOL. 1). “Umbrella is meant to celebrate love and how protective, special, and full of life it makes you feel,” Wande says.

Blaqbonez— “Young Preacher”

On 14 diverse songs for his sophomore studio album “Young Preacher,” Blaqbonez hand picks few acts to perfectly convey the star studded album. Tekno, Amaarae, Tay Iwar, Lojay, Jae5 and more enhanced his sermon with separate efforts. Blaqbonez showed ample versatility and creativity to unfold striking stories about love, self and his career as well subtle vulnerabilities.

Wizkid — “Money & Love”

Love is eternal and money is not. Simple. Wizkid expands the theme making this track as one of the promotional single towards the next week release of his forthcoming fifth studio album “More Love Less Ego.” On the Afro-fusion P2J produced track, Wizkid expressed his ambition for his woman and appreciates her African beauty. Through beautiful trumpeting riffs along, He also revealed his lustful interest for his lover.

Bella Shmurda — “Hypertension”

Bella Shmurda’s newly released project “Hypertension,” raises the bar for Bella, pronouncing himself the new born Fela and with his rendition absolutely worthy. Bella Shmurda recruits fellow stars like Simi, Phyno, Victony, LAX, Omah Lay and more.

Korede Bello— “Available”

Finally, Korede Bello, ignites a sophomore single which follows the previously released debut single earlier this year. The current track “Available,” has Amapiano leanings and a sonic texture of trendy sounds. Korede Bello might remain in the waiting room continually as he hopes strongly that this one becomes a career turning point track.

Runtown — “Propaganda”

Everyone hopes to fully explore and enjoy what Runtown returns with into the music landscape this week. With ‘Propaganda’ album under his belt, his absence would be felt greatly and the impact deserves to spawn through time thereby creating ripple effects like waves that could wreck a ship.

Other notable releases this week include songs from Johnny Drille, Phyno, PsychoYP feat. Zlatan Ibile, Majeed, Twelve XII, Hermez, T.I Blaze, Cina Soul feat. Camidoh, Dredw feat. Essilfie, Runtown and more.
