Danie is from Edo state and music at a very tender age of 10 and has always had a passion for sounds. He was influenced early on by his dad and my uncles who played all types of music. His dad was known for the classics Fela Kuti, Lagbaja, Michael Jackson, UB40, Elton John. Bob Marley and his uncle added more of the hip-hop flavors with the artists like DMX, Jay-Z. He started writing his own raps at the time because he looked up to rappers like Eminem, 2pac Biggie, and Nas then along came, Lil Wayne and Drake. Along the line, he started falling in love with reggae and dancehall music but his first love has always been Afrobeats and that’s his primary sonic focus but due to his diverse soundscape, there’s a lot of fusion on his music.
“Music for me is everything. I just want to do it proper to put smiles on the face of my people.”
