The Enugu State Government has entered into a 35-year lease agreement with Landmark Africa Group for the development of the 50-hectare Nike Lake Resort.
Announcing the partnership, Governor Peter Mbah emphasized the project’s potential to boost the state’s tourism and investment appeal. “We see this project as a strategic opportunity to position Enugu as a regional hub for tourism and business.” Mbah said, adding that the state will provide necessary infrastructure to support the initiative.
The project aims to transform the resort into a premier destination, attracting over three million visitors annually while driving economic growth and enhancing Enugu’s global profile.
Paul Onwuanibe, CEO of Landmark Africa Group, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the company’s commitment to raising the resort to international standards.
“Our investment in Nike Lake Resort will not only elevate it to international standards but will also create significant employment opportunities for Enugu’s youth and drive economic growth,” he said.
The agreement aligns with Governor Mbah’s vision for sustainable development and improved living standards in the state. “This partnership reflects our commitment to making Enugu a better place for both residents and investors,” Mbah noted.
