New Music Weekend: Featuring Ckay, Mr. Eazi, YKB, Dice Ailes & More

It’s the last weekend of January and music is starting to come out of the lull January always has, with new project announcements from Mr. Eazi and Ckay and dance floor tracks posed to become hits, here’s some of the best music from this weekend.

CKay – Kiss Me Like You Miss Me

Last year, Ckay delivered stellar verses on Amaarae’s The Angel You Don’t Know and Davido’s A Better Time before going on to drop the drowsy low-tempo Felony. His latest single is a beautiful love ballad that blends folk guitar sounds, Amapiano drums and Ckay’s soft serenading vocals. Co-produced by Ckay and BMH, Kiss Me Like You Miss Me is off his Boyfriend Ep expected to drop in February.

Mr. Eazi – The Don

Starting the year with announcing his upcoming EP Something Else which is set to drop on February 19 and dropping the first single off it; The Don. According to him The Don opened the door to him going back to the studio after being focused on empawa Africa last year. WIth Killertunes and Ekelly co-producing the song which sees Mr. Eazi’s transition to a don.

YKB & Zlatan – Dey Your Dey

It’s still the first month and YKB is on a roll with his second single of the year, Dey Your Dey, an uptempo track with YKB singing on minding your business and staying on your lane. The beat is infectious and Zlatan’s feature verse and adlibs adds more energy to the dance floor track.

Dice Ailes – Money Dance

Dice Ailes who recently got signed to Sony Music West Africa, kicks off his new journey with the groovy party track Money Dance.

Ace DJ Xquisite, Blaqbonez & Psycho YP – Once Again Dey Don Vex Me

For his first single Ace DJ Xquisite enlists new school rappers Blaqbonez and Psycho YP on the energetic Once Again Dey Don Dey Vex Me which is produced by BMH.

Mr. Real Ft. Laycon & Zlatan – Baba Fela Remix

As if the original track wasn’t enough of a bop, Mr. Real features the industry top street hop acts showing no other community can create rap tracks with a rough bounce to take over the dance floor as street hip-hop does.

Yung L ft. Tiggs da Author – Womanizer

Womanizer is off Yung L’s Yaadman Kingsize album which dropped this weekend with features from Wizkid, Seun Kuti, Shank, and more. Womanizer features Tiggsda Author and incorporates calm reggae vibes as Yung L sings on his prowess.
