There’s always something interesting to listen to in the new landscape of music being born in Africa and diasporans all over the world, we’re more in tune with the melodies of our ethos, voice, spirits, and culture. The vibrancy has given birth to an explosion of more black rooted music than ever before given African listeners all over the continent not only more of their own stories and people playing on the charts but also a collective voice that place the global face of Africa in a light on a lane that’s being inspired by the fusion of indigenous African pop sounds and experimental crossovers with other genres that have passed through the African sound system.
Some of the truly beautiful music being created within this Baroque era of African music is left underground, and sometimes unheard cause the mainstream understanding of music takes time to accept the shift, nonetheless these sounds are around us waiting to be streamed via Soundcloud, Apple Music, and Spotify, you just need to dig a bit sometimes and we’re here to help with a few new sounds to explore as you start the week.

DJ Yin is in her trademark sound on the new song ‘Rewind‘, staying low as she only sings the catchy hook leaving the verses for ShowDemCamp to own, It’s the best we’ve heard from them since their well-received EP ‘PalmWine Music’ was released last year.
Kyrian Asher – NOCTEM DRIVE NEON

He’s not mainstream and I doubt a sound as unique as his will ever be but he’s one of the greats in his generation.
