The editors at More Branches update #UndergroundShuffle every week to help you sift through the many amazing underground musical talents from across Africa releasing good enough music to populate your playlists.

British-Nigerian Keziah Mallam made a special song in “Problem No Dey Finish,” a cut that narrows through life and is a reminder for listeners that problems are part of life. She fashions her succulent vocals with local percussions, trumpeting rifts in between to convey such a vital artistry that listeners could relate with. Dapo Tuburna officially opens the year with his pop infused anthemic “Idan Gan Gan.”

Minz has had his vocals allure print great songs with the big guns in the soundscape. “Diamonds” is an enriching cut, served in properly orchestrated drill beats and is an introspective song. It also serves as a personal tow into and talks about his life. Reehaa scores an apt remix with the legendary Nigerian rapper Ice Prince for her single “Yolo.”

Other notable releases this week include songs from Tobi Peter, Dyna Edyne, Dotman, Declan, and more.
