The editors at More Branches update #UndergroundShuffle every week to help you sift through the many amazing underground musical talents from across Africa releasing good enough music to populate your playlists.
Ladé, the burgeoning female Nigerian songtress known for her input on the popular “Airtel 444” advert in 2020, has currently secured an anthemic song that frequently grows and relates with the average Nigerian adults titled “Adulthood Anthem.”
Shayo Davids opens up his year with “Awon Temi,” enlisting the penchant of Barry Jhay, making a signal to be one of Nigerian music’s young new favorites. And on the other end is Maxee’s “Wake Up” which speaks well of him, and is a worthy collage of putting the streets together.
Jayysongz’s “Noisy Neighbors,” assisted by Emaxee, is soothing enough and carries the splendour that comes with the creation of great pop songs. Its his debut year opener and serves him right.
Other notable releases this week include songs from Beekay, Valvin, Misterkay, and Sosa.ttw.
