It took Wizkid dropping a video overnight for many of us to agree on why bestfriends deserve sex too. Maybe this isn’t a post about Fever’s video (it is), or maybe it’s a clarion call for us to reimagine what a bestfriend can be in year 2018. Love, sex and no expectations, after all, it’s a hookup with no strings attached between two people who genuinely like and trust each other, as long as both parties adhere to the rule ‘No strings attached.’
In the music video for “Fever,” Wizkid ropes in fellow singer and acclaimed bestfriend Tiwa Savage to play his lover as they erotically display desire and chemistry in cozy scenes directed by Meji Alabi. Before now, there have been speculations about the two pop stars, as to whether they’re having a relationship, a thing or just showbiz. As expected, the video has once again distracted Nigerians from the daily news headlines, racking up over 1 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. But if there’s anything to be happy about, it’s the rescue of the bestfriend zone!
