BBC Documentary: Multichoice Removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV from DStv

Multichoice DStv has informed viewers of its intention to stop the broadcast of the religious TV network, Emmanuel TV, set up by the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, T.B. Joshua. The development follows a controversial documentary against the clergyman by the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC.

The viral documentary features individuals purported to be former members of the church who confess to having experienced molestation and torture at the hands of the late prophet. In a message on screen, Multichoice said the discontinuation will take effect from January 17, 2024. The message read, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.”

Aside from parting ways with MultiChoice, Emmanuel TV will also discontinue service on StarSat and various other pay-TV platforms. This development followed a controversial three-part documentary produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which alleged atrocities and sexual crimes committed against the late TB Joshua towards his disciples.

This decision by Multichoice DStv has sparked mixed reactions from viewers and fans of the late TB Joshua. While some have applauded the move as a step towards justice for the alleged victims, others have criticized it as an attack on religious freedom and an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the late prophet.

The controversy surrounding the documentary and the subsequent discontinuation of Emmanuel TV’s broadcast highlights the complex intersection of religion, media, and accountability in Nigeria and beyond.

  1. It was great seeing how much work you put into it. The picture is nice, and your writing style is stylish, but you seem to be worrying that you should be presenting the next article. I’ll almost certainly be back to read more of your work if you take care of this hike.

  2. I loved even more than you will get done right here. The picture is nice, and your writing is stylish, but you seem to be rushing through it, and I think you should give it again soon. I’ll probably do that again and again if you protect this hike.
