ICYMI: This week features Trill Xoe, Na-Ku,Sarah Itamah & More

With Mario Judah’s threats to release WLR, JT’s out of pocket tweets, and our collective realisation that United as a club is finished, it’s been a fairly eventful week. With all that said here’s some new music you probably haven’t heard to get you through it all

8am in Lekki – Na-Ku and Trill Xoe

Most of us have probably experienced firsthand the ups and downs of relationships, and so we’re no strangers to the theme of 8am in Lekki

Pain is evident on this tune, with Na-Ku delivering sombre lyrics over a minimalistic electronic beat, with an afrobeat twist. Produced by 44DB Collective’s Trill Xoe, 8am in Lekki’s beat is one of its strong points, never overpowering Na-Ku’s voice, while still providing the necessary audial assistance to carry the song along.

We’ve had 5am in Toronto, 4pm in Calabasas, and now we have our very own 8am in Lekki

Come Back – Sarah Itamah

Sometimes we need to admit it when we just can’t do without someone, be it a friend or a lover. Sarah Itamah puts this feeling into 4 minutes of beautiful audio, with her debut single, Come Back

Come Back has a sound we don’t often hear, one that’s challenging even for the most talented vocalists. Sarah holds her own quite well, giving a spirited and soulful performance reminiscent of Sabrina Claudio.

2nd Guessin’ – Yungcudii & OEG

Yungcudii and frequent collaborator OEG are back with their new single, 2nd Guessin’

A brooding guitar loop sets the tone, as Yungcudii delineates experiences of heartbreak, and mistrust in a relationship. With its catchy chorus and OEG’s standout verse, 2nd Guessin’ should be making its way onto any rap playlist you’re curating right now.

Blue Sky – Serena Isioma

Serena Isioma capped off the year with the release of her sophomore EP, The Leo Sun Sets. Off her new project, we have the psychedelic single, Blue Sky

Serena confesses to us on Blue Sky that she loves to kiss pretty bitches, especially under Blue skies. It’s an acid trip of a song, that sounds like a bad experience with shrooms. Listen to this under the wrong circumstances, and you just might float into those Blue skies along with it.
