Last night at her concert in Lagos, Lady Donli tingled her fans with her most anticipated and latest release, the remix of one of the hottest tunes of 2019 and a blockbuster off her debut album Enjoy Your Life. CA$H, an alt-jazz song about money, fame, power and the chase that comes with it is a dangerously contagious tune, that was buzzing across radios and TVs, and even in local markets all year round, it was the official anthem for the happy hustlers.
Donli has had the biggest year so far in her journey to stardom and there was no better person to cap the year with than the fresh prince of African music, Davido. On CA$H remix, nothing really changes, just an Omo-baba-olowo flex from the man who’s currently making everyone have A Good Time. And I’m pretty sure you’re not surprised, but Davido doesn’t think money is the problem, it’s how to spend it; and his verse is a sonically pleasing eulogium to all of our fantasies about riches and the dream life.
