It’s Christmas after summer for the kids in Philadelphia. The city’s native and rapper – Meek Mill is making it easy for students struggling financially to return back to school after he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia earlier this week to distribute 500 backpacks and he plans on handing out 6,000 more over two days to students in 12 schools. In an interview with TMZ after the event, Meek Mill reminisced over his childhood days – “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for their kids,” Meek said. “Those memories stay with me, and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right note with the right supplies.”
