In Power Horse’s new short film, they take a quick peek into the lives of Nigeria’s BMX pioneers, the Lagos BMX crew. Led by Matthew Temitope Solomon, the Lagos BMX crew stunts through the streets of one of the world’s busiest cities, armed with their bicycles, enthusiasm and a desire to introduce other Nigerians to their community.
In Solomon’s words “once you just have a bike, we roll together, because you have something that connects you to me.” This quote encapsulates the importance of the role that community plays in the continued desire to create a space for Nigerian youth to explore themselves at activities that are not considered commonplace. This is where sponsors like Power Horse are stepping in and also helping to support and cultivate that community as shown by this documentary and supporting events like Street Souk.
