The Hosts of MTV Base’s New Show “Ghosted” Talk About The Premiere

/

MTV Base’s new reality show, ‘Ghosted’ is an exciting and relatable series delves into the raw and often heart-wrenching experiences of individuals left feeling heartbroken and confused after seemingly promising relationships vanish into thin air.

Hosted by dynamic MTV Base Culture Squad, Ilo and Oluchi, ‘Ghosted’ offers the show guests a chance at closure by confronting their ‘ghosts’ face-to-face. With their infectious energy and sharp wit, the hosts will guide the ‘haunted’ through every awkward encounter and emotional rollercoaster as the participants express their feelings and, hopefully, find some closure.

“We are thrilled to bring ‘Ghosted’ to our Pan African audience base. It’s a show that resonates deeply with many reality content lovers and offers a unique blend of entertainment and real-life drama that we believe will captivate our viewers.”

Busola Komolafe, Senior Channels Manager, Paramount

We caught up with the hosts to talk about the premiere, and what more we can expect this season.

What are you excited about as a host of the show and guiding participants through the different motions or complexities of being ghosted on the show?

We are excited about people seeing it first and getting it out there. People getting a chance to watch it. Giving Nigerians a chance to tell their ghosted stories because you find a lot of these stories on Twitter. If you type this on Twitter, you see a lot of these stories. It can be very traumatic but that’s what makes us keen to put it out there and for people to see the effects of ghosting can be on other people.

How do you think a lot of viewers might relate to some of the stories on this season of Ghosted?

I feel like most of the stories are quite relatable. If you can not relate to one, you might relate to another. It goes beyond even romantic relationships, sometimes it can be through family, friendship, and the entire scope of relationships. It can help people to pinpoint one point or another where it touches them somewhere.

Have you guys learned anything in particular from this journey of meeting different people and hearing different stories?

One of the things I learned is that not everyone deals with stuff the same way. Some people need more time than others, some people need more push than others and I even realized that some people are just irresponsible. It’s not because there was a tangible excuse or reason. Human beings will just be human beings. You give people chances or even moments of healing and sometimes you just let people go.

Is there anything you feel viewers can anticipate during the premiere?

They definitely need to anticipate a lot of drama. They need to anticipate the full 360 degrees of emotions because it will bring out everything from happiness to anger, sadness, laughter, and everything. They should expect a thrill from anything

There are moments you don’t want to miss. Very Jaw-dropping moments. Some stuff are crazy, especially in the confrontation moments. There are moments where you will shed tears

What else can we expect from future episodes from Ghosted following the premiere?

We can expect to see different scenes they can relate to more. You get to see all the scopes of relationships. They should expect to see much more than romantic relationships.

There will be a lot of learning curves. It’s not just entertaining but educative moments. We have episodes where people are extremely vulnerable. It helps you see how to come about situations the right way

Do you have anything to say to someone who has been ghosted or has done some ghosting in recent times?

If you have been ghosted, reach out to us so we can get you answers.
