Tidal Launches In Nigeria

/

The Nigerian music scene has been experiencing a global rush as the country’s stars keep pushing the boundaries of their art and getting their music to new places. The global amplification of African music has spurred the entry of more international investors and music powerhouses plotting to get a piece of the continental cake.

In recent months, streaming giants like Youtube Music, Apple Music, Deezer have all taken advantage of the boom, and have expanded their teams across major African bureaus in a bid to intergrate into the local music culture. With the explosion of stars like Burna Boy last year, and new names like Santi, Tems, Nasty C also showcasing a newer taste of the emerging generation, these streaming players have finanly woken up from their slumber, and are now taking risks in a market devoid of structures and a large percentage of consumers adamant to pay for music consumption.

One week after Audiomack launched its office in Lagos, Nigeria, subscription-based music, podcast and video streaming service, TIDAL is set to officially launch operations in Nigeria.

According to Pulse NG the app is still not fully operational in Nigeria, but at this time, the fee for premium subscription is said to be around N1,200.
